Matrimony

In the Catechism of the Catholic Church, 1601, it says “The matrimonial covenant, by which a man and a woman establish between themselves a partnership of the whole of life, is by its nature ordered toward the good of the spouses and the procreation and education of offspring; this covenant between baptized persons has been raised by Christ the Lord to the dignity of a sacrament.”

Long before cultures or governments ever discussed marriage, God placed on the human heart a longing for the unique, lifelong commitment, and total self-giving love found in the Sacrament of Matrimony. What does God's design mean for us in our daily lives together?

Planning

Welcome and congratulations! We rejoice with you as you prepare for your wedding day. Together with you, we desire to do all that we can to make your wedding day pleasing to God, happy for you and a day for all to remember.

If you are looking to get married at St. Charles Borromeo, we would be happy to assist you if you follow these procedures:

1) Contact Fr. Theby at frtheby@borromeoparish.com to inform him of your request.  He will set up an initial meeting with the two of you to walk through the marriage preparation process.

2) Please check the Parish Calendar for available dates. Weddings are scheduled at 11:00 AM or 2:00 PM. A date cannot be booked until one of our priests has given consent, even if another priest is officiating. When ready to schedule, contact the parish office at 636-946-1893. We will confirm the details with the priest who granted his consent.

3)Attend a wedding seminar hosted by Carol Faubert to go over all the expectations of having a wedding in our church.  You can view June's wedding seminar online.  You can direct specific questions about the church and the logistics of the ceremony to Carol at carol@borromeoparish.com. Be sure you have contacted a priest FIRST, as Carol cannot give consent nor schedule your wedding.
