You can become Catholic through an initiation program called CIA, which stands for Christian Initiation of Adults, the process by which an adult person is initiated into the full communion with the Catholic Church.

CIA is the journey through which adults receive instructions in the teachings of the Catholic faith and are prepared to receive the Sacraments of Initiation (Baptism, Confirmation, and Eucharist). Each year on Holy Saturday during the Easter Vigil, thousands of men and women are received into the Catholic Church in the United States.

CIA is also a great resource for current Catholics who want to learn more about Church teachings.

If you are interested in becoming Catholic or in learning more about the Catholic Church, email rcia@borromeoparish.com.

Formely referred to as "RCIA". The name change is also intended to better reflect that an “order” is a collection of all the “rites” involved in the process. The revision will also introduce four new categories: catechumens (unbaptized adults), unbaptized infants, baptized non-Catholic Christians, and baptized Catholics in need of confirmation.
